English Muay Thai standout Jacob Smith of the United Kingdom says he stopped counting former two-sport king 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty out after the latter dismantled Thai legend Nong-O Hama.
Haggerty came into his April 2023 showdown with Nong-O at ONE Fight Night 9 on Prime Video as a massive underdog. No one expected Haggerty to win, let alone dominate such an accomplished fighter.
But 'The General' produced one of his finest performances in the world's largest martial arts organization. Smith, watching closely from the sidelines, was impressed by what he saw from his countryman.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Smith shared his thoughts on the fight, and how impressed he was by Haggerty.

He said:
"And then he goes out and absolutely knocks him out cold. From that day forward, I cannot go against him."
Today, Haggerty is the reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and former Muay Thai king. He is widely considered one of the world's top pound-for-pound strikers, and one of the best in the world's largest martial arts organization.
Meanwhile, Smith is trying his best to make a name for himself in ONE Championship, and he can do just that by beating his next opponent.
