Fans of the striking arts already revere ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon as one of the greatest combat sports athletes to come from Thailand. Still, the 34-year-old star wants to add more to his legacy.
He will hope to make good on that goal as he attempts to take the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship from Tawanchai PK Saenchai at ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24.
Superbon told ONE Championship ahead of their world title rematch:
"I knew I'd have another chance to fight Tawanchai because the result was so close. So, I feel like I am going to defeat him very clearly in the next fight."

The top-ranked featherweight Muay Thai competitor came close to unseating Tawanchai when he challenged him in December 2023. Despite Superbon pushing the champion to his absolute limit, the 25-year-old proved his prowess and retained the gold via majority decision.
The defeat did not deter Superbon. Instead, it motivated him to pursue another opportunity to fight the PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym product, which he earned last September by knocking out 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut with a vicious upward elbow.
Superbon promises to hunt for knockout against Tawanchai
Superbon made his name in the sport by carving up opponents with his precise strikes, which often led to decision wins. However, he is gunning to claim his fourth finish in ONE versus Tawanchai, as he recently told the promotion in an interview:
"When I feel confident that I have enough stamina for five rounds, I'd shift my focus onto knocking him out faster. Then, it's going to be like, shifting. Like, I should be up for five rounds, but along the way, I'd find a skill or technique to get rid of him before it reaches five rounds."
ONE 170 will occur inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The event is available via watch.onefc.com.
