Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Marcelo Garcia is one of the greatest to ever do it in 'the gentle art'. But in a sport plagued with athletes using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to gain a competitive advantage over their opponents, Garcia is a strong and vocal advocate against it.
In fact, Garcia says that the whole principle of jiu-jitsu is not using your strength, but rather technique to subdue enemies.
Speaking during a special guest appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Garcia said PEDs in jiu-jitsu is a massive problem. However, he is thankful for his coaches growing up, as they taught him it wasn't necessary to take any of it.

The 41-year-old veteran said:
"I'm sorry, but I think it's a problem. For example, look how frustrated I am. I grew up with a lot of people who used it around me. I see people use that around me. I was lucky nobody ever told me I needed to use that. My coach, everybody knew that I was big, I was strong."
Needless to say, fans simply cannot wait to see the Brazilian legend back in action, showcasing his skills in the world's largest martial arts organization.
We won't have to wait long to see the legend doing what he does best as his debut is coming right up.
