ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon dabbled into the world of kickboxing last weekend at ONE Fight Night 6. 'The Iron Man' obliterated China's Jiduo Yibu from pillar to post, earning a clear unanimous decision win. The three-round war was a one-sided beatdown with Rodtang swinging the hammer at the bloodied but very game Jiduo.

The bout came to fruition after Rodtang's original opponent, Daniel Puertas, was promoted to the co-main event after ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Ilias Ennahachi abruptly relinquished his title. Rodtang was given a new opponent in Jiduo, albeit on short notice.

The ONE flyweight Muay Thai king had to ultimately face a completely different opponent with a completely different style under a completely different ruleset. Regardless, 'The Iron Man' showed up and dazzled and awed his home crowd in Bangkok, Thailand.

Despite his attacks inside the clinch and his ability to catch kicks being removed from the equation, Rodtang made it work by simply doing what he does best: pressure. pressure, pressure. Jiduo tried his best to hold his ground but was ultimately swallowed by 'The Iron Man'.

In his post-fight interview with SCMP MMA, Rodtang spoke about how he felt about his performance:

"I am very happy with my victory today and I’m also very happy to be back in Thailand fighting. I have all my family members here, I have my friends here. Approximately 60 people came for me today. I absolutely feel amazing."

Rodtang Jitmuangnon eyeing ONE flyweight kickboxing world title

After scoring his 270th career win with a dominant performance against Jiduo Yibu, Rodtang spoke with ONE commentator Mitch Chilson inside the circle to immediately discuss his thoughts on the bout:

“I’ve never been as excited as when I fight in Thailand. When I come back home, I’ve been all around the world, but this is where I feel the most pressure."

When asked what's next for him, Rodtang Jitmuangnon boldly proclaimed that he has his sights set on becoming a two-sport world champion. Before exiting the Circle, 'The Iron Man' plainly stated:

“I will try to get the kickboxing belt next.”

The vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing world title was won by Superlek Kiatmoo9 later that evening. With Rodtang Jitmuangnon already holding the promotion's flyweight Muay Thai belt, a showdown with fellow Thai superstar for the kickboxing world title will surely produce unforgettable moments.
