While he is focusing right now on mixed martial arts, Australian fighter 'Mini T' Danial Williams looks forward to competing once again in Muay Thai one day, possibly at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
In a recent interview, Williams shared that one of the things he always wanted to do but was not able to fulfill when he was still actively taking part in Muay Thai competitions was to fight in the famous arena.
That opportunity, however, has opened up again for Danial Williams if and when he decides to return to Muay Thai, as ONE Championship inked a deal with Lumpinee Stadium to hold events in the legendary venue on a weekly basis starting this year.

Upon learning of the news, Danial Williams told ONE Championship that he is excited over the development:
“When I stopped Muay Thai, the one thing that I didn’t get to do in my career was fight at Lumpinee. I’m like ‘That’s all right, you cannot have it all, on to the next goal.' And now that opportunity arose. I’m like ‘Holy s***,’ it’s kind of creepy that it’s possible now. That goal is still there that I can fight in Lumpinee one day. I hope it happens.”
Lumpinee will host its inaugural ONE Championship event on January 20, which will be headlined by a ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship fight between reigning titleholder Nong-O Gaiyanghadao and dangerous Russian challenger Alaverdi Ramazanov.
Originally built in 1956, the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium is considered by many to be the symbol of modern Muay Thai.
Danial Williams is eyeing two ONE Championship world title belts in 2023
Australian striker Danial Williams is girding for a busy 2023 where he hopes to claim two ONE Championship world title belts.
One of the busiest fighters on the roster in the past year, Williams has set his sights on winning gold in Muay Thai and kickboxing while redeeming himself in mixed martial arts this year.
Danial Williams told ONE Championship:
“I definitely want the [ONE strawweight] Muay Thai [world title] belt. I feel that’s mine for the taking this year. In a perfect world, it would be a Muay Thai world title fight, then a [champion]-versus-champion fight with kickboxing, and then the [Jeremy] Miado rematch. That would be the ultimate 2023.”
The ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title is currently held by Italian striker Joseph 'The Hurricane' Lasiri, while the strawweight gold in kickboxing is kept by Canada's Jonathan Di Bella.
