“I hope people will respect me more” - Johan Ghazali out to earn his stripes after ONE 170, looking for showdown with veteran

Johan Ghazali is looking to prove himself on the big stage when he heads to the Circle this weekend in the biggest fight of his career yet.

The Rentap Muaythai Gym representative will perform in front of millions of eyeballs around the globe at ONE 170 in Bangkok this Friday night, and he is full of confidence, especially because he has his family by his side.

Ghazali told Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:

"Yeah, of course I miss home. But Malaysia’s right there, you know? My mom comes by, my brothers have been here too. So I’ll be fine."

'Jojo' has spent the past several months training at Superbon Training Camp in Bangkok, working with legends of kickboxing and Muay Thai in preparation for his next fight.

Ghazali will face the undefeated Johan Estupinan in a three-round flyweight Muay Thai contest at ONE 170, which will broadcast live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, Jan. 24.

Johan Ghazali has made it clear -- don't underestimate him because of his age. The 18-year-old upstart wants all the smoke, and he has veteran Denis Puric in his sights.

He told Sportskeeda MMA:

"After this fight, I hope people will respect me more. Apart from that, I want to fight Denis Puric after this fight. That’s my main goal for now. He’s a ranked fighter, and I want to be ranked."
