Marcelo Garcia was impressive in his first-ever outing under the world's largest martial arts organization after submitting Japanese legend Masakazu Imanari.
The multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion closed their openweight submission grappling match with a north-south choke last Friday evening at ONE 170 in front of the sold-out Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
When his match concluded, the Brazilian martial arts icon also had the opportunity to watch all the action firsthand. According to Marcelo Garcia, he was left in awe of how elite the competition was under the ONE Championship, particularly in Muay Thai fights.

He stated this during the post-fight press conference, where he shared:
"Definitely, it was very emotional. But I have to congratulate all the fighters that I saw fighting today. I didn't see the fights before, but I saw the fights [after mine]. I was so impressed with the strikers, with their level of like Muay Thai. I've never seen this before. I'm so impressed."

Marcelo Garcia says that telling others your problem will help ease your emotional baggage
After dispatching 'Ashikan-Judan,' Mitch Chilson interviewed the 42-year-old veteran inside the circle, and he shared a valuable lesson about problems and how someone eases their emotional baggage.
According to Marcelo Garcia, sharing your problems with others will make them aware of your situation and will allow you to receive a lot of support from your inner circle, as he explained:
"Let me just share one thing - if you got a problem, you got to share your problem. You got to let people know you have a problem. I did this, and I got so much love from everyone around me. So if you have a problem, let people know what's going on, because that's the only way you can get help. That's what I did and I got so much love."
