Losing to Rodtang Jitmuangnon twice certainly made Jonathan Haggerty the killer that he is today.
Now a two-sport world champion in the world's largest martial arts organization, 'The General' is comfortable looking back at his setbacks, particularly that brutal stoppage loss to 'The Iron Man' in their second meeting back in 2020.
In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, 'Retrospect with Jonathan Haggerty', the double champ revealed some interesting details about his clash with Rodtang at ONE: A New Tomorrow.
"So before this fight, in the morning, my rehydration was terrible. I was eating chicken massaman on the morning of the fight, which was weird because I was so depleted and so hungry. I starved myself to get to this weight. I was just eating everything I could."

Despite not feeling his best, Haggerty pushed through but found himself being compromised once inside the ring. He continued:
"I remember Dom Lau announcing me in the ring. And I actually like brought sick in my mouth when I was in the ring."
Jonathan Haggerty still got his licks in against the Thai star early on but was too weakened and eventually suffered three straight knockdowns in the third round:
"If he kept moving up left here, boom, and he wobbled. I saw him wobble, and I thought, 'Oh, I got a chance here."

Jonathan Haggerty says all is well between him and rival Rodtang
While Jonathan Haggerty would love to avenge those losses one day, he holds no ill will for Rodtang. Turns out, the feeling is mutual for the flyweight Muay Thai world champion, who always treats Haggerty with respect.
The British megastar shared in the same video:
"We've got a funny relationship, me and Rodtang. There's no hate there at all. We see each other. We always give each other a cuddle and good luck before our fights."
Meanwhile, Haggerty will return at ONE 168: Denver to defend his bantamweight Muay Thai crown against Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Tickets to ONE 168 on September 6 at Ball Arena are available via Ticketmaster.
