Newly crowned ONE women's atomweight submission grappling world champion Mayssa Bastos of Brazil knew deep in her heart that once the bell had rang to signal the end of her match with American star Danielle Kelly, she had won.
Bastos scored a unanimous decision win over the now-former atomweight queen Kelly in the co-main event at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart on Prime Video. She got her second win in ONE Championship and took home the coveted golden belt as well as a $50,000 performance bonus.
Speaking in the official ONE Fight Night 24 post-fight interview backstage, Bastos said she was super glad to have gotten the victory.

The multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion stated:
"I knew that I had more catches than her, but I was a little bit apprehensive. But it was great to hear my name."
As for a potential rematch with Kelly, Bastos remained open to it. She added:
"Yes, for sure, I would be happy to fight her again."
Bastos has quickly become one of the biggest stars in the world's largest martial arts organization. She proceeded to thank her fans for the support, and said there was more to come.
She concluded:
"I just want to thank everyone for their support, for cheering for me, and I hope you guys like it, and hope to see you guys soon."

The 26-year-old multi-time BJJ world champion says winning the ONE world title has helped cement her legacy.
She told ONE:
"It's special because I'm the first Brazilian to ever win [the ONE grappling title], especially because it was a title that I did not have yet, and also [it's] for my legacy. So I think that's it."
