Irish UFC star Ian Garry recently learned how MMA fans can react to nearly everything you do - even the color of the shorts you wear in a fight. In a recent photo posted by MMA Orbit on X, 'The Future' wore his newly-acquired purple shorts courtesy of official outfitter Venum. He will wear them in his upcoming bout with Michael 'Venom' Page at UFC 303 this weekend.

Purple shorts aren't common in the UFC since they require official outfitters like Reebok and Venum. As of late, however, Venum has been creating custom designs for world champions and high-profile fighters, like Alex Pereira and Max Holloway.
Still, purple shorts are quite a peculiar request and are likely not to be given out so easily. Despite this, Ian Garry managed to convince the sporting apparel brand to promptly grant him his request.
One X user, @MrStealYourDime, hilariously pointed out UFC middleweight Brendan Allen, who just got granted purple shorts a few months ago after campaigning for it for nearly a year, saying:
"i know brendan allen mad rn😭🤣"
Another X user, FLEX LUTHOR, seconded it:
"fr he been asking forever"

Ian Garry fires back at Michael 'Venom' Page for calling him "Fake Conor McGregor"
Ahead of their massive clash at UFC 303 this weekend, Ian Garry and Michael 'Venom' Page have been trading verbal jabs and it's been quite entertaining. Page, or MVP as his fans call him, accused Garry of being a "fake Conor McGregor". He insinuated that the Irish fighter is aping 'The Notorious' for mere clout, but ultimately comes out inauthentic.
To this, Garry responded during his UFC 303 media scrum by saying:
"Anyone saying that I'm trying to be like Conor McGregor, I take that as a compliment. He's the greatest star the sport has ever seen. If you're comparing me to him, it means I'm doing something right."
He continued:
"Have I been inspired by him? Absolutely. How many people talked about Kobe Bryant trying to be like Michael Jordan? Kobe went out and made a legacy of his own in his own way whilst having similar traits to Jordan."
