Undisputed ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon is convinced he has prepared adequately to deal with Tawawnchai PK Saenchai's somewhat secret weapon: his kicks.
Ahead of his opportunity to take the featherweight Muay Thai crown from Tawanchai at ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, Superbon had an interview with ONE to discuss how their December 2023 showdown shaped his training camp for the rematch. The 34-year-old said:
"I have learned a few things. The first thing was that I didn't expect Tawanchai would be able to kick that fast. That's what I missed. The other thing is the combination. For example, approaching Tawanchai to attack him actually allows him to strike me better in the first fight."

It should be noted that their first encounter also had the 155-pound Muay Thai crown hanging in the balance, with Tawanchai seeking to notch his second successful defense.
As the head honcho of Superbon Training Camp alluded to, Tawanchai's understated kicking speed and refined boxing skills allowed him to outwork Superbon and ultimately retain the throne via majority decision.
But with Superbon having identified and rectified his past mistakes during training camp, their show-closing world title rematch inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, will surely have no shortage of fireworks.

Superbon does not expect knockout finish to happen at ONE 170
Superbon has been through many wars throughout his illustrious career. Despite his excitement to challenge Tawanchai again for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship, he believes their rematch will not end in a knockout.
The world-class striker recently told ONE:
"The level that Tawanchai and I are in is considered a high note. Knocking one another out is quite hard because we both are super cautious. My plan is to be able to fight five rounds first."
