Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight MMA world champion 'Wonder Boy' Fabricio Andrade of Brazil has been out of commission for the entirety of 2024. But it wasn't because he simply did not want to fight.
If it were up to the Tiger Muay Thai product, he would fight every week. However, a series of unfortunate events, as well as debilitating injuries have kept him sidelined for the majority of the past 12 months.
One injury in particular prevented Andrade from even training.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Andrade described what he went through last year.

'Wonder Boy' said:
"I had a few injuries during this period. Right after the fight against John Lineker, where I broke my hand, I spent some time in rehabilitation. Then, three weeks before my kickboxing fight, I was in a lot of pain in my shoulder, I couldn't lift my arm, I had to take a lot of anti-inflammatories and other medications to be able to train, but it didn't help much. So, right after the fight, I decided to take care of this injury."
That being said, Andrade is back in action this weekend, and is ready to defend his gold.
