Jonathan Haggerty has seen himself become a belt collector since moving up to the bantamweight division. The Brit had already experienced what it was like to become a world champion under the ONE banner.

Haggerty's success at flyweight was impressive enough but up a weight class is where he has found his natural fit.

In back-to-back fights, 'The General' has stopped two world champions and has become the bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion.

Finishing both Nong-O Hama and Fabricio Andrade has made him the most wanted man in the division but Haggerty is more than happy to meet the demands of all the challenges that await him. He doesn't plan on leaving either belt behind if he doesn't have to and that means being an active and defending champion.

Ahead of his second title defense at ONE 168, the champ spoke in an interview with ONE Championship about wanting to keep both divisions active as well as keeping one eye on a third world title:

"I would like to keep active, defend the kickboxing belt, defend the Muay Thai belt, and then the MMA belt is definitely my mind."

Jonathan Haggerty must take things one fight at a time

As a champion of two different rulesets, Jonathan Haggerty must remain focused on facing each challenge as it comes rather than getting ahead of himself.

With so many options laid out in front of him, it would be easy for the Brit to become distracted or overlook certain tests. He certainly won't make that mistake when returning on Sept. 6 to headline the Ball Arena in Denver in a Muay Thai title defense against Superlek.

Even for these two competitors, who have done so much in their careers, it doesn't get much bigger than this. 'The General' is out for revenge against 'The Kicking Machine' in the main event on Sept. 6.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
