Filipino fan favorite Jeremy Miado plans to fight fire with fire—or in this case, pressure with pressure.
In desperate need of a win, 'The Jaguar' will return to the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Friday, July 5 for a clash with top-five-ranked strawweight MMA contender Hiroba Minowa at ONE Fight Night 23 on Prime Video.
Miado vs. Minowa will very much be a battle of striker vs. grappler as Minowa will likely look to put pressure on his opponent early and use his grappling game to wear down Miado.

Determined to prevent that from happening, Miado believes he can use his elite-level striking to counteract Minowa's takedown attends and score his own return to the win column.
"I see him applying pressure right away to try and corner me near the [ropes]," Miado told The MMA Superfan. "Of course, I won’t let him and I’ll apply my own pressure using my striking.
"He knows that his best chance to take me down is to force me to retreat and put my back against the [ring ropes]."
Jeremy Miado and Hiroba Minowa determined to snap their losing skids at ONE Fight Night 23
After scoring four-straight knockouts against Danial Williams, Lito Adiwang, and Miao Li Tao in back-to-back bouts, Jeremy Miado now finds himself on the cusp of losing four in a row.
Seeing his streak snapped by Russian standout Mansur Malachiev at ONE Fight Night 11 in June 2023, Miado failed to bounce back in bouts against Lito Adiwang and Keito Yamakita. However, 'The Jaguar' still has the chance to thrust himself into the strawweight top five if he puts on an impressive showing against Minowa, who also finds himself in a must-win situation.
Minowa, like Miado, has lost his last three, though, in his defense, he's faced some seriously tough competition, including former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks and perennial contenders Bokang Masunyane and Gustavo Balart.
Who snaps their losing skid and secures their spot in the loaded strawweight rankings?
