Fabricio Andrade has finished Kwon Won Il before and does not doubt he'll be able to do it again. The reigning bantamweight MMA world champion will put his 26 pounds of gold on the line for the first time against a familiar foe in one of three world title fights this Friday at ONE 170.

Speaking in a Sportskeeda MMA Exclusive, Andrade claimed that this match won't make it the full allotted 25 minutes. Moreover, 'Wonder Boy' said he'll eventually break the South Korean challenger on the feet or the ground.

"I want to see how it goes and I’m very confident I’ll eventually find a hole and finish the fight later on," he said.

Fabricio Andrade's supreme confidence is well-warranted, considering he took out Kwon in under a round at ONE 158 back in 2022. The Brazilian firecracker used a pinpoint kick to the body that sent 'Pretty Boy' crashing to the canvas in pure agony.

While Andrade has respect for Kwon's dangerous striking skills, he also believes that he holds a distinct advantage in grappling, which he'll gladly exploit at ONE 170.

Fabricio Andrade erring on the side of caution versus Kwon Won Il

Fabricio Andrade understands that Kwon Won Il will be out for vengeance when they share the Circle for the second time.

As such, he remains wary of the South Korean heavy-hitter and admits he cannot let his guard down despite the results of their initial encounter.

"He showed improvement in all areas and showed that he is an athlete who cannot be underestimated. I need to be careful in this fight," Andrade told ONE.

This is certainly a wise choice for the Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai representative, considering Kwon racked up three straight TKO victories to secure his well-deserved world title shot.

ONE 170 will emanate from Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Jan. 24. The full event will air live in Asian Primetime via watchonefc.com.
