Since debuting in ONE Championship at the start of 2019, Jonathan Haggerty has achieved some incredible things in the promotion.
The Brit is a former two-time Muay Thai world champion and the current ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion.
During this time, he has seen striking sports continue to grow globally first hand by taking note of the reactions he gets from the public.
Jonathan Haggerty isn't surprised at this stage that he will get a lot of love and support whilst he's in Thailand but it's when he's back home in England where he can really see how things are starting to change.

'The General' spoke about this during a recent appearance on the Winners Talking Podcast:
"The recognition and support when I'm in Thailand, it's crazy. It is going to be crazy because it's the biggest sport out there. But over here [in the UK] it's not too known, like you said, it's just building. But the recognition is getting there, you know. Every time I go on a run, I'll get the odd person shouting my name. And it just motivates me to keep running, you know."

Jonathan Haggerty is leading the charge
Striking sports wouldn't be growing significantly in areas of the world like the United Kingdom if it wasn't for leading figures like Jonathan Haggerty.
The world champion and former two-sport king has been able to help put Muay Thai and kickboxing on the map in this current era and he deserves a lot of credit for that.
Haggerty is now set to return at ONE 171: Qatar, where he will put his world championship on the line in the main event.
On Feb. 20 at the Lusail Sports Arena, the Brit will look to produce another historic night in his career by defeating China's biggest kickboxing star 'Demon Blade' Wei Rui.
