Fourth-ranked ONE flyweight MMA competitor Reece McLaren would love nothing more than to fight former flyweight MMA king Adriano Moraes for the currently vacant 135-pound MMA crown following his showdown with Jarred Brooks at ONE Fight Night 26 on Friday, Dec. 6.

During an interview with the Bangkok Post, the CMBT Training Centre star staked his claim for a flyweight MMA world title clash with 'Mikinho':

"Cannot deny it. Man, Moraes said he was going to say my name and he didn't. He could have said my name for a couple years now and he hasn't. I'll say your name, Moraes. I'll say it all day. Let's get it done."

A veteran of 16 bouts under the ONE banner, McLaren found immense success when he dropped down from the 145-pound bantamweight MMA division to flyweight in November 2017. He has since racked up a total of eight victories with six finishes.

Despite his sustained excellence, welcoming interim strawweight MMA king Brooks to the 135-pound division will be a completely different challenge due to the Mash Fight Team star's high-pressure, hard-nosed wrestling style.

Reece McLaren warns Jarred Brooks against trading strikes with him

Jarred Brooks has supplemented his world-class wrestling abilities with a vastly improved striking game, but Reece McLaren is adamant that the American will make a huge mistake in trying to goad him into a prolonged striking exchange.

In a recent interview with ONE, 'Lightning' said:

"He's [Brooks] probably not gonna be fighting the best Reece, but he's definitely as hell going to be fighting the most violent. I can guarantee violence."

ONE Fight Night 26 will take place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
