Jarred Brooks is determined to get that quick finish over Gustavo Balart, but he'll only launch into a full offensive sequence once he's at that perfect flow in the fight.
The American wrestling machine will face Balart for the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 this Friday, US primetime, at the historic Lumpinee Stadium.
Brooks arrived in Bangkok a few days ago for the card's fight week proceedings and has been brushing up on his game plan ahead of his interim world title showdown against Balart.

In an interview with Yockstar Studios, Jarred Brooks said:
"I see him coming in like the same game plan, I mean he's a hard fight for anybody just because he's small and he's a different stature than your average fighter, but I know exactly what Gustavo is up to and I already know what he's gonna be about when he gets inside of the ring."
He added:
"So, time will only tell and I think with the more time that goes by it's gonna tell more. Fighting is about adaption, so I adapt to getting a finish. I don't just look for finishes. When people look for finishes, that's when they don't get it or they lose. So I look to adapt and try to get the finish within the first or second round."
Brooks is an aggressive grappler with a 4-1 record in ONE Championship, 20-3 overall, and two submission finishes over Lito Adiwang and Bokang Masunyane.
He'll bring that same aggression when he faces Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 on Prime Video, which is available live and free to all subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Jarred Brooks plans to leave it all in the ring against Gustavo Balart
Jarred Brooks may be a natural grappler, but he plans to unleash the full gamut of his MMA arsenal against Gustavo Balart in Bangkok.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Brooks said he wants to show off everything he trained for and even throw hands against the Cuban Olympic wrestler.
"I'm going to showcase it all. He's been working on a lot of boxing in this camp and he's probably done a little bit of Muay Thai and I know all the boys that he works with. I've been to little Cuba where Alex Caceres and all those boys trained. I'm familiar with their training camps, so I'm not opposed to working on what he's working to defeat him."
