Dante Leon believes he has "a lot more to give" to jiu-jitsu and submission grappling.
In early December 2024, Leon made his ONE Championship debut as the latest round of signings for the promotion's submission grappling roster. The 29-year-old Canadian didn't disappoint at ONE Fight Night 26, securing a $50,000 performance bonus-winning armbar against Bruno Pucci.
Leon was satisfied with his promotional debut but has much bigger plans for his ONE tenure. During an interview with 'JitsMagazine,' the Pedigo Submission Fighting affiliate had this to say about his desire to continue improving:
"I think I have a lot more work that I can give. I think I have a lot more I can give to the sport. And I think with jiu-jitsu, I can continue to do it with just jiu-jitsu and just submission grappling."

Dante Leon looks to avenge previous defeat against Tommy Langaker
Dante Leon faced Tommy Langaker in the 2018 IBJJG Pan American tournament. Langaker emerged victorious that night by points, and now the two world-class grapplers have crossed paths again.
On Friday, January 10, Langaker and Leon will compete in a catchweight submission grappling bout at ONE Fight Night 27. During an interview with the promotion, Leon had this to say about potentially avenging his previous defeat:
"It's always been a match, and it's always been a case where it's sat in my mind a little bit, and I've kinda wanted to have at least another chance to have some vindication for myself."
Tommy Langaker has been in ONE Championship slightly longer than Dante Leon. The Norweigan grappler holds a promotional record of 2-0, including wins against Renato Canuto and Uali Kurzhev, with both defeats against Kade Ruotolo.
ONE Fight Night 27 goes down inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Friday's event can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
