For Alexis Nicolas, performing in the best condition is a necessity, and that's why he's going all in on his preparation for a massive challenge ahead.
The ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion is slated to defend his belt against former two-sport titleholder Regian Eersel at ONE Fight Night 25 on Oct. 4.
With only hours before this crucial match begins, Nicolas knows that he had to be on top of his mind, as well as maintaining his condition at his best.
The 26-year-old shared his mindset to ONE Championship in an interview prior to this main event tilt.

Nicolas said:
"My mindset hasn't changed since the first time I had to fight him, like I know I have to punch him."
He explained:
"Heading into my fights, I always do my best preparation. It was crazy. I run a lot. My cardio is unlimited. You can do what you want. I would be ready for that. And I'm in the best shape of my life. So I'm the champ and I want to keep the belt in my country. That's my belt. So I'm sorry for that, but it will stay in France."
With the two stars as headliners, ONE Fight Night 25 will be a spectacle not to miss. Catch it live in U.S. primetime, free of charge to all Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Alexis Nicolas believes Regian Eersel will have a hard time facing him
The last time they fought, Alexis Nicolas scored a knockdown over Regian Eersel in the course of 15 minutes of lightning-fast striking exchanges.
Now, 'Barboza' thinks it would be 10 times harder for Eersel to challenge him in just less than 24 hours of time.
Such confidence does not come at a whim. The Mahmoudy Gym representative told the promotion in the same interview:
"I worked a lot with my team and it’s not like it will be the same for the next fight. It will be harder for him."
And if he manages to pull another surprise this time, Alexis Nicolas should indeed be given credit as one of the toughest lightweight strikers in ONE Championship.
