Veteran Ukrainian fighter Alyona Rassohyna says she always takes pride in having a fighter's mentality, which has served her well in establishing a successful fighting career. It included beating current ONE atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex in her ONE Championship debut in February 2021.

The Yarost Gym standout, 34, spoke about her journey as a fighter in an interview with the promotion ahead of her return to ONE action after four years this week in Thailand.

Rassohyna said:

"I was shaped as a fighter long before my victory against Stamp. I've had just as many difficult opponents that I've beaten, so I'm confident in my skills."

Alyona Rassohyna made her ONE debut in February 2021 at ONE: Unbreakable III against Stamp, winning by submission. The Thai superstar was able to exact payback seven months later at ONE: Empower but not after being taken to the limit by Rassohyna for a split decision win.

Rassohyna is featured at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Jan. 10 in Thailand, where she will vie for the interim atomweight MMA world title against fellow contender Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines.

ONE Fight Night 27 will take place at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and air live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.


Denice Zamboanga expects an aggressive Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27

Alyona Rassohyna has been out of competition for quite some time, so Denice Zamboanga is expecting her to be hungry for a win when they collide for the interim atomweight belt at ONE Fight Night 27 on Jan. 10 in Thailand.

'The Menace' shared this in an interview with ONE Championship, highlighting how her Ukrainian opponent is not short in motivation in coming up with a win in their clash, saying:

"I feel like she's gonna come out hungry. Her hunger to win will be there. Her inspiration would be her family, for sure. That's why I expect her to be training really hard for this fight."

Rassohyna had her first two matches in ONE in 2021, both against Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex, but did not compete after until now at ONE Fight Night 27. For her part, Zamboanga continues to be active in competition and has won her last three matches.
