Surinamese-Dutch fighter Regian Eersel returned to being a double ONE world champion last week and touted that there is more that fight fans can expect from him.

'The Immortal' reclaimed the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title from erstwhile champion Alexis Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs. Eersel II at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Oct. 4. He won by unanimous decision to regain his standing as a two-sport world champion, holding the lightweight Muay Thai gold as well.

In the post-fight interview inside the ring, Regian Eersel thanked his supporters just as he vowed to continue providing top-notch performances moving forward.

The 31-year-old Sityodtong Amsterdam standout said:

"Thank you for the support. Thank you for tuning in and for watching my fight. As I said, I'm here to create a beautiful performance. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Stay tuned. Follow me because there will be more to come."

In his title rematch with Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 25, Regian Eersel made sure to descend on 'Barboza' right from the opening bell unlike in their first encounter back in April where it took time for him to heat up. The tack proved to be key for him as he was able to set the tone with solid shots through leg kicks, knees and crosses to the face that kept Nicholas' thrust at bay.

The Frenchman gained some headway in his push in the championship rounds but Eersel did not lose steam en route to securing the unanimous decision win. As a result, he exacted payback on his rival, who took the belt from him last time around also by decision.

North American fans who want to relive the action at ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs Eersel II and have an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can do so on demand.

Regian Eersel hopes victory over Alexis Nicolas in rematch shores up his legacy

Regian Eersel viewed his rematch with Alexis Nicolas as more than just reclaiming the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title but also an opportunity to shore up his legacy as a topnotch fighter.

He made his known ahead of his redo with Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs. Eersel II on Oct. 4, telling ONE Championship in an interview:

"Oh yeah, what my feeling are for this rematch, but yeah. To add this to my legacy, you know, like I said before, if I win, this will build a bigger legacy for myself. People, you know, you lose in life but it's not how you lose, it's how you recover from losing, you know."

The victory at ONE Fight Night 25 was the 11th for 'The Immortal' in 12 matches since making his promotional debut in 2018.
