Jarred Brooks says he's ready to start a new leaf as he heads towards his upcoming world title battle with Gustavo Balart this Friday.

The former ONE strawweight MMA world champion is certainly a changed man since being stripped of his world title to Filipino rival Joshua Pacio by way of disqualification earlier this year.

Although things didn't go his way, Brooks says that he tries to keep a good attitude about it.

Speaking to ONE ahead of his world title bout at ONE Fight Night 24, the American superstar said:

"Life is life and it gives you experience. And I think that I'm too damn good for my own good at the end of the day, so sometimes God has to backtrack you. And that's what' happening, I feel like. I gotta put myself back up on my feet and you guys will see that against Gustavo Balart."

Jarred Brooks is evidently determined to reclaim his throne if he gets a chance to unify the interim crown with Joshua Pacio. And now that he's become a proud father to a baby daughter, there's more of a reason than before to come out on top.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live in US Primetime. free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.

"Balart is like a torpedo" - Jarred Brooks admires Gustavo Balart's resiliency and unyielding spirit ahead of their MMA clash

Jarred Brooks heaped praise on Gustavo Balart for his resiliency and unyielding fighting spirit ahead of their MMA clash at OFN24.

Balart is undeniably one of the toughest contenders to beat on the ONE roster. Still going strong at 37 years old, the American Top Team representative continues to show that he just gets better and better with time.

With four straight wins, he's shocked fans with his incredible wrestling acumen and explosive stand-up game. But more importantly, as Jarred Brooks describes, there's absolutely no quit in this guy.

Brooks told ONE:

"Balart is like a torpedo that first two round. You can hit him, and he's just gonna keep on coming forward. He doesn't care. He's just gonna hit you with those leg kicks and try to swing for the fences until he can reach your chin. So he's tough in that aspect."
