Takeru Segawa is ready to leave behind an incredible legacy when he decides to retire. The Japanese superstar has made a name for himself as one of the best kickboxers on the planet.
Though his career has brought him glory, success, and fame, it is his love for the sport that has kept him going. The former K-1 world champion is set to return at ONE Friday Fights 81 where he is in search of his first victory since signing to ONE Championship.
However, rather than placing any additional pressure on himself to perform, the 33-year-old is simply enjoying the ride for as long as it lasts. In a recent interview with ONE Championship, he spoke about how he has come to appreciate what he has right now because he knows that it won't last forever:
"I think this is the period when I'm enjoying martial arts the most. Not knowing how many more fights I can have physically, I'm living each day feeling the joy of being able to do martial arts."

Takeru is ready to put on a show for the fans
As always whenever he fights, Takeru is going to have a lot of support from his Japanese fans on September 27. 'The Natural Born Crusher' never fails to put on a show, and his next outing will be no different despite a change of opponents.
With Black Panther withdrawing from the fight, lethwei striker Thant Zin steps in to take his place at Lumpinee Stadium.
If Takeru is happy to live in the moment and embrace the fact that he can still train and compete for the love of the game, that is sure to be felt in his performance.
We cannot afford to take him or his career for granted at this stage.
