Japanese kickboxing legend Takeru Segawa is excited to make his second outing under the ONE Championship banner this week and showcase the improvements he has made to his game. He has also vowed to go for an explosive finish for fight fans to enjoy.
'The Natural Born Crusher' plunges back into action at ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs. Nattawut on Sept. 27 in a flyweight kickboxing showdown against streaking young fighter Thant Zin of Myanmar. It is part of the event happening at the famed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Takeru spoke about the mindset he has entering his scheduled match, including how he has the fans in mind.

"I'm very glad to be back, and i'm very excited to fight at ONE Friday Fights this Friday. I [want to produce] a knockout in front of the fans."

At ONE Friday Fights 81, Takeru is out for redemption after being tripped in his ONE debut back in January, where he lost in his bid for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title to reigning divisional king Superlek Kiatmoo9 by unanimous decision.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Thant Zin, 19, is looking to sustain his solid form early in his ONE Championship journey that has seen him win two straight, both by way of knockout.

Takeru wants to represent Japan the best way he can in ONE Championship
Apart from furthering his already-illustrious career, Takeru Segawa wants to represent his home-country of Japan the best way he can as he establishes his footing in his new home of ONE Championship.
The longtime K-1 campaigner and champion shared this in an interview with ONE, highlighting how he intends to show the true strengths of Japanese fighters on a more global scale.
'The Natural Born Crusher' said:
"I want to achieve results on the ONE stage as a reprensentative of Japan, [fellow Japanese fighter Hiroki] Akimoto has already become a ONE world champion once, but I want to show the strength of Japanese fighters in ONE as a Japanese representative."
