The 30-year-old Coach Quan University product says he has retooled and resharpened his skill set. Now, he wants to prove to fans that he remains a force to be reckoned with in the division.
Standing in his way is dangerous Russian foe Mansur Malachiev, who will try to take Masunyane's No.2 spot in the divisional rankings.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Masunyae expressed his confidence of being a better all-round fighter than Malachiev.

'Little Giant' stated:
"I feel like I’ve got more tools and I’m more explosive. I think I will be able to utilize that and play around with my wrestling, and I feel like my striking has gotten better."
Needless to say, this pivotal strawweight MMA clash will likely produce the next challenger to the throne, after Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks unify the division.
Masunyane wants to emerge as the clear-cut frontrunner in the contest and he will stop at nothing to prove he belongs in that conversation.
