Nico Cornejo (left) is dead set to make a successful debut in his next challenge against Adrian Lee (right) at ONE 168.

Nico Cornejo is coming in hot with a solid purpose in his mind, creating a perfect ONE Championship debut in the United States against teenage phenom Adrian Lee at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6.

The Colorado native was adamant in representing the wrestling community in his home state, and he wants to prove he's no pushover although only having two professional fights on his slate.

Moreover, the 35-year-old wants to stop Lee's hype train by finishing the young star in front of the U.S. audience.

'The Steel City Kid' told ONE Championship, brimming with confidence:

“I’m looking for that KO or the TKO. You know, if I get a submission, I get a submission. Either way, I’m finishing the fight.”

But, Lee is not someone to look past easily. The 18-year-old star is also going for the second win following his impressive debut back in June with a submission victory over Australia's Antonio Mammarella.

ONE 168: Denver will emanate from the Ball Arena, home of the NBA's Denver Nuggets, airing live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Tickets are available for purchase via Ticketmaster.

Nico Cornejo feels honored to take on young phenom Adrian Lee at ONE 168

Colorado's Nico Cornejo has full respect for his upcoming opponent, Adrian Lee, as he's heading into the stacked ONE 168: Denver card on Sept. 6.

Cornejo knows full well about the teen's family background, and he feels that this debut fight will show the MMA fans who he really is regardless of the results inside the Ball Arena.

In fact, Cornejo told MMA UK in another interview:

"He's good. He's a phenomenal talent. His family history, his family background, his brothers, sisters, Victoria, Christian, and Angela, all being ONE champions."

Regardless, 'The Steel City Kid' Nico Cornejo still wants to make history as the man who stops Lee's hype train when they finally go head-to-head.
