When asked why he wore it, Paul couldn't help but make a lighthearted joke over it.

According to Paul, he wore his 'diamond-spiked ear covers,' which he hopes to take into the ring with him to avoid having his ear bitten. However, it is unlikely that any commission will allow him to take part in a professional boxing match wearing such jewelry.

"I'm not getting my sh*t bit off on Friday night. So I got my diamond-spiked ear covers right there."

Paul's claim is a reference to one of Tyson's most infamous moments when he bit off the top of Evander Holyfield's ear. Given 'The Problem Child's' reported $80 million net worth, his taunt is hardly surprising. However, come fight night, he will face one of boxing's greatest-ever fighters.

Tyson is the youngest world champion in heavyweight boxing history. His knockouts before and even after his prison sentence live on in the memory of the sport, and he will look to turn back the clock tomorrow.

Unfortunately, their bout has been marred by controversy relating to Tyson's health issues and the 31-year age difference between them. Only time will tell if fans will see the same old 'Iron Mike' in the ring on Friday.
