Takeru Segawa doesn't want his much-anticipated war against Rodtang Jitmuangnon in Japan to be anything less than an instant classic.

The former three-division K-1 world champion and the Thai megastar go toe-to-toe in a flyweight kickboxing duel that headlines the promotion's return to "The Land of the Rising Sun" on March 23.

Given the build-up, hype, and magnitude surrounding this fight — a matchup widely regarded as a meeting between two of the planet's top strikers — Takeru doesn't want to disappoint when he dances alongside 'The Iron Man' inside the Saitama Super Arena.

Speaking to Bangkok Post's Nick Atkin during the ONE Friday Fights 92 fight week, 'The Natural Born Crusher' ensured fans that he would put all his eggs in one basket to guarantee a banger of a fight come ONE 172:

"It's been a while [for this fight]. I've been waiting for this fight to happen, and I'm very excited for this March. I'm going to put everything in this fight."

Rodtang and Takeru were initially set to face at ONE 165 in January this year, but the former announced his withdrawal months before the super fight due to an injury he sustained in camp.

The Japanese star remained on the card where he slumped to a loss on the judges' scorecard to 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 inside the Ariaka Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

He has since returned to winning ways with a second-round knockout of Burmese powerhouse Thant Zin at ONE Friday Fights 81.

Takeru says fans don't have to be concerned about Rodtang missing weight

Throughout the time Takeru has shone on the global stage, Rodtang's campaign in the promotion hasn't gone to plan.

'The Iron Man' missed weight for his victorious appearances this year against Bosnian-Canadian veteran Denis Puric, a non-title kickboxing fight, and Englishman Jacob Smith.

He was also forced to vacate the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title in the lead-up to his clash alongside the British star at ONE 169.

Despite that being a source of concern within the martial arts faction, the Japanese kickboxing icon believes his opposite number will come in strong for their ONE 172 fixture.

In the same interview, he added:

"I believe that Rodtang will do his best to make weight and hydration."
