Ilia Topuria and Conor McGregor's online feud seems to be intensifying. Topuria will attempt his first featherweight title defense against Max Holloway in the UFC 308 on Oct. 26. However, he has launched verbal attacks on other high-profile fighters like McGregor, Islam Makhachev, and Belal Muhammad.
Recently, the Spaniard labeled Holloway's 2013 defeat against McGregor "embarrassing". Responding to the comments in a now-deleted post on X, the Irishman praised Holloway's career progression in subsequent years. Topuria continued the one-upping game and criticized McGregor's biggest career losses. The social media altercation continued further.

"Everything looks better on me. I'm more handsome, richer, and a better fighter than you."
McGregor:
"Artem Lobov retard hahaha."
Topuria:
"Totally agree, your best friend Artem. Tell me who you are with, and I'll tell you who you are. You're another retard."
McGregor:
"Fanboy retard."
Topuria:
"Exactly. You finally understood who you are. Watch me fight on October 26, you're going to learn a lot."

Ilia Topuria does not think a potential fight against Conor McGregor will take place
While Ilia Topuria and Conor McGregor have been feuding online, the chances of it culminating into a sanctioned MMA fight are less, thinks 'El Matador'.
McGregor has been on the sidelines since suffering a leg break in his UFC 264 fight against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. He was expected to make a comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 but had to pull out due to a toe injury.
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Topuria said about the Irishman:
"For me, he's retired. I don't want to even talk about him - A guy who's retired. I feel bad to talk about a guy who's retired. At the same time, he's a retard."
When asked if he thinks a fight against McGregor will take place, Topuria said:
"That’s never going to happen, never. I’m the world champion and he’s not even in the rankings. But we can do something if he wants. Official fight? That’s impossible. And right now at this point, I have much bigger fights than Conor McGregor - Conor McChicken.”
