Second-ranked ONE featherweight kickboxing competitor Marat Grigorian put together another striking masterclass in his legendary career when he knocked out 25-year-old Abdelali Zahidi on the undercard of ONE Friday Fights 92 last Friday, Dec. 20.
During the post-event press conference, a gleeful Grigorian met the media and had this to say about his fifth win under the ONE banner:
"I was happy to be back. I was very happy to fight against Zahidi. I was a little bit surprised that he accepted the fight. He did a good job, you know. He did a good job. It was a little bit short notice this fight, you know. It was really last minute, but as a fighter you accept it. You need to be always ready. And, yes, I'm happy that I took the fight. I got the chance to fight again. So it was good."

At ONE's final event of the year, Grigorian's finish of the Moroccan rising star stood out because of how action-packed their battle initially was, with both men not hesitating to throw their combos.
But after he dropped Zahidi with a monstrous overhand right midway through the second round, the Hemmers Gym affiliate emptied his tank and sent 'Black Diamond' to sleep with a quick combo against the corner.
Marat Grigorian comments on how he got the finish
After earning one of the most exciting finishes of his career, Marat Grigorian pointed out that his knockout of Abdelali Zahidi was simply a byproduct of his patience.
In the post-event interview backstage, the 33-year-old Armenian said:
"I was waiting in silence, and I was waiting for the good moment, you know. He can do a lot of things, but I'm watching good, you know. So I was focused."
