ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade is choosing to look at his knockout defeat to Jonathan Haggerty in November 2023 over the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing crown as an unfortunate but necessary outcome.

Speaking with the Bangkok Post, 'Wonder Boy' shared:

"I don't think it was the best camp I could have had, and a lot of things happened. The fight got pushed, and I wasn't feeling 100 percent in my body."

Andrade added:

"It is what it is. It was an opportunity to improve. I still think I could have done better, but I'm also happy it happened how it was meant to be. Now I'm a different fighter, a better fighter, and I'm more hungry to improve."

Fresh off his fourth-round TKO of John Lineker to win the vacant ONE bantamweight MMA world championship in February 2023, Andrade was confident in his chances of becoming a ONE double-champ over Haggerty.

However, Haggerty was unwilling to let the Brazilian achieve his goal and landed the knockout blow in the second round to claim the bantamweight kickboxing crown.

Andrade's next assignment is to defend the ONE bantamweight MMA world championship against Kwon Won Il at ONE 170 on Jan. 24, 2025, inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Kwon Won Il promises to exact revenge against Fabricio Andrade

Kwon Won Il is vowing to get his revenge on Fabricio Andrade for knocking him out in June 2022 by taking the 145-pound MMA crown at ONE 170.

Won II wrote in an Instagram post:

"👑AND NEW WORLD CHAMPION👑 It was a rough path. But I will be the Champion and I will get that revenge this time. Started from the bottom, now we're here. Please be with me in the journey. I will WIN. Hey Chicken Dance Andrade, you're dead 💯"
