No.1-ranked ONE strawweight contender ‘The Monkey God’ Jarred Brooks says he’s been successful as a mixed martial artist because of his powerful mindset. He enters his fights to the best of his ability and gives his opponents hell in the cage. The brash and confident American believes it won’t be any different in his next fight.
Brooks is set to challenge reigning ONE strawweight world champion Joshua ‘The Passion’ Pacio in the main event of ONE 164, which will be broadcast live from the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, on Saturday, December 3. A victory for ‘The Monkey God’ would be the culmination of a life’s work, showcasing his skills in the UFC and now in ONE Championship, where Brooks has emerged as a force to be reckoned with.
In a recent appearance on The MMA Superfan, Jarred Brooks talked about the Pacio fight and how his opponents have discovered just how hard it is to be in the circle with him. ‘The Monkey God’ said:
“I’m just going out there and I’m just going to be a hard opponent for anybody. Especially when they face me the first time, it’s very hard.”

Jarred Brooks is ready to give Joshua Pacio the fight of his life
‘The Monkey God’ Jarred Brooks is certainly vicious on the microphone, but unlike many, he possesses the ability to back up the smack. The 29-year-old will be looking to take the fight to Pacio and give the young Filipino his toughest test to date.
In the same interview with The MMA Superfan, Jarred Brooks sent a stern warning to ‘The Passion':
“Don’t get me wrong, he’s like the Manny Pacquiao over there in the Philippines. But people know that real shit comes from America. And I’m going to give him a good American ass-kicking.”
