Newly crowned ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world titleholder Jackie Buntan of the United States and the Philippines says nothing much changed in her day-to-day life after becoming a world champion.
After capturing the most prestigious golden belt in martial arts, you would think Buntan would be living the life of a superstar. Instead, the 27-year-old Californian says her life has remained largely the same, outside of getting recognized by fans more here and there.
Speaking to Val de War of DeWar Report, Buntan says she is happy to remain the homebody that she is, despite a massive 26-pound golden belt currently sitting on her mantle.

The Filipina-American star said:
"Honestly, no, and I'm kind of grateful for that. You know, I tend to be a homebody. I've been going out because I've been in training camp for like, two months. But honestly, right now, I'm just enjoying staying at home, kind of doing nothing, taking my time, and having slow mornings. But yeah, besides media and stuff online, my life kind of remains the same, which I'm grateful for."
Needless to say, Buntan is one of the biggest stars in the world's largest martial arts organization today. And whether she likes it or not, she's currently a world champion -- and with that comes superstar status.
Jackie Buntan rejected offer from Glory to fight in ONE Championship
27-year-old Filipina-American superstar Jackie Buntan recently revealed that she had fielded offers from multiple organizations but ultimately chose ONE Championship to showcase her skills.
She told DeWar Report:
"I was supposed to turn pro when I was 22, was that 2019? I got a WCK organization, like, super local one within L.A., San Diego. And then I had some issues where the fight fell through. I was like, okay, whatever. And around that time, I got an offer from Glory Kickboxing. And then, like, two weeks after, ONE Championship came with an offer."
