Over the past five years, Ciryl Gane's life has undergone significant changes, and despite his success as a multitime UFC title challenger, finding balance remains a challenge. Gane is recognized as one of the most naturally gifted fighters in MMA, but his journey to this point has not been without its difficulties.

Before embarking on his MMA career, Gane spent a few years competing in Muay Thai, but he did not have an extensive background in combat sports. Despite this, his talent has enabled him to rise to the top of the sport and become a force to be reckoned with in the UFC.

According to a recent interview with La Sueur, Ciryl Gane may be even more talented than initially thought. Despite his rapid improvement in the UFC, Gane has reportedly disclosed that he only trains in the period leading up to his fights, which is surprising given his level of performance in the octagon. This revelation speaks to Gane's natural ability and his ability to quickly adapt and excel in high-pressure situations.

'Bon Gamin' stated:

"I love grappling, but unfortunately, I’m lazy, that’s the truth. I only train when a fight is announced. I have a lot of media obligations. Professional opportunities outside of the sport. You can’t say no to all these things. I also have to give time to my family, rest well."

Ciryl Gane further added:

"If I look back at my career, this a regret, I only train when a fight is announced. I had my fight against Tuivasa, barely trained since then, and now I’m back it since the Jones fight has been announced."

Interestingly, Ciryl Gane's opponent, Jon Jones, can relate to the Frenchman's approach to training. Jones has publicly acknowledged neglecting his training in the past, even boasting about beating Daniel Cormier "after a weekend of cocaine." However, the success of both Gane and Jones cannot be denied, as they have both demonstrated their ability to perform at the championship level in five-round fights.
