“I'm learning” - Luke Lessei says secret to success has been channeling fear and turning it into strength

28-year-old American Muay Thai superstar 'The Chef' Luke Lessei is elated after taking home a much-needed knockout win at ONE Fight Night 27 last weekend in Bangkok.

And the Dubuque Martial Arts Group representative says the key to his success has been channeling his fear and turning it into positive energy.

Lessei made quick work of Canadian opponent Cody Jerome on Saturday, finishing his foe via technical knockout in the first round in what was an explosive performance.

Speaking to the media backstage at the official ONE Fight Night 27 post-fight interviews, Lessei talked about being able to better handle the nerves under the bright lights of the world's largest martial arts organization.

'The Chef' said:

"No, I don't know what to do with that. I'm learning. I'm still 28, just getting like, what was that? My fourth-fifth fight in ONE? So that never goes away. But I'm learning a lot of different ways to handle the fear and the nerves."
