Fabricio Andrade claimed he's "mentally prepared" for Kwon Won Il's mind games.

In June 2022, Andrade and Kwon fought as bantamweight MMA contenders at ONE 158. Andrade secured a first-round knockout that night, which led to an undisputed world title shot against John Lineker four months later.

Since then, Andrade has become the division's world champion, proving he's one of the most dangerous MMA fighters in ONE Championship. Later this week, 'Wonder Boy' will defend his throne for the first time in a rematch against Kwon.

During an interview with ONE, Andrade had this to say about what he learned about Kwon during their first fight:

"He's a guy who likes to talk a lot, who likes to provoke. That was something he did in our first fight and I'm expecting him to do it again. But I'm mentally prepared for it."

Fabricio Andrade vs. Kwon Won Il 2 will take place inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand for the ONE 170 co-main event. In the main event, Tawanchai looks to retain his featherweight Muay Thai title in a rematch against Superbon.

ONE 170 goes down on Friday, January 24. The upcoming event, which features three world title fights, can be viewed at watch.onefc.com.

Kwon Won Il looks to complete magical run with knockout against Fabricio Andrade

Kwon Won Il suffered a significant setback due to the 62-second knockout loss against Fabricio Andrade. The South Korean bantamweight has since bounced back with consecutive knockout wins against Mark Abelardo, Artem Belakh, and Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg.

At ONE 170, Kwon has an opportunity to avenge his defeat against Andrade and etch his name into promotion history. It'll be easier said than done, as 'Wonder Boy' remains undefeated in the ONE bantamweight MMA division.

Andrade holds a promotional MMA record of 6-0, including five wins inside the distance (four KO/TKOs and one submission). The 27-year-old's latest fight in the sport was a title-winning fourth-round knockout against John Lineker in February 2023.

Andrade's last fight was a kickboxing world title fight against Jonathan Haggerty. 'Wonder Boy' suffered a second-round knockout loss in that matchup and remained inactive for a year to recover from lingering injuries.
