Brazilian MMA fighter Victoria Souza is confident of racking up a second consecutive victory when she competes at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A. on Sept. 6.

The 27-year-old is set to battle American Alyse Anderson in a feature atomweight MMA clash, which is a part of the event happening at the Ball Arena in Denver and airing live and for free at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Victoria Souza said that she has prepared well for her upcoming showdown against Anderson and believes she will come out on top. She said:

"I'm doing a lot of conditioning training. I'm much faster, and I'm stronger [than before]. And despite all of Alyse's qualities, I believe that my qualities make me a better fighter than her. My strength and speed will be my greatest advantages."

Victoria Souza swung back to the win column in her last fight in June when she submitted Japanese Itsuki Hirata in the opening round.

Meanwhile, Anderson will be back in action for the first time since her previous fight in May last year, when she lost to Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex.

Victoria Souza channeling all of her focus on MMA at the moment

Victoria Souza has other things on her hands while building a steady fighting career under ONE Championship, but admits MMA is among those on top of her priorities.

The Ataque Duplo/Chute Boxe Floripa representative, who is also pursuing a degree in dentistry, shared this in an interview with the promotion, highlighting that she has invested a lot in doing MMA and she does not want it to just go to waste.

Souza said:

"The most important thing to me today is MMA. I am studying dentistry at college, and I will practice the profession in the future when I retire from MMA."

Souza has also stated that her academic pursuits have not interfered with her MMA career, and that her school work has actually helped her to hone in and focus on her craft.
