Alexis Nicolas always felt like he was ready to compete at the highest level of the sport.

All the French striker needed was the opportunity to prove this point to the rest of the world.

At ONE Fight Night 21 earlier this year, he finally got his moment to shine in the spotlight and capitalized on the opportunity.

With a shock win over Regian Eersel in the main event, Nicolas became the new ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion.

He certainly took Eersel off guard but now he's looking to prove that the win wasn't down to the circumstances of the fight meeting.

At ONE Fight Night 25 on Oct. 4, Nicolas is out to prove that he belongs at this level by defeating 'The Immortal' for a second time at Lumpinee Stadium.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship ahead of the rematch, he spoke about continuing to stay at the top with a win:

"I'm one of the top fighters in the world, so I'm proud and I want to become the superstar that I need to be too. I want to fight everybody and I want to continue my career like that."

Alexis Nicolas certainly showed the effectiveness of his game

Alexis Nicolas was definitely able to show at ONE Fight Night 21 that he will not be an easy opponent for anyone in the world.

A combination of his leg kicks and powerful punches swung the fight in his favor after Regian Eersel was able to come back into the fight as it went on.

His ONE Championship debut but it didn't gather the kind of attention that you would expect from a future world champion.

He was able to take it up another level in his biggest fight to date.

We will find out if Nicolas has it in him to rise to the occasion once again at Lumpinee Stadium.

ONE Fight Night 25 will air live in US primetime free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
