Double-champ Jonathan Haggerty has ticked all the boxes to bring his 'A' game to Denver this weekend.

At ONE 168: Denver, Haggerty will defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Superlek Kiatmoo9 inside the Ball Arena on Sept. 6, and is a promising fight that would be his career-best with an old foe.

Knowing this is not their first meeting, the British striker weighs on the difference between his mentality back in 2018 and now. However, based on his experience throughout two divisions in the promotion, Haggerty believes that he is at his peak.

'The General' spoke with Inside Fighting on what kind of mindset he brings to the table:

"Yeah, the mentality is different. I was just a boy going into the fight. I don't know why I accepted it, but I did. I only had 10 fights. But from then, I always wanted to prove to myself, prove to the world, that I'm gonna be the best in the world."

Haggerty continued:

"And I took the fight, obviously, things didn't go the way I wanted, but now, it shows the growth of my career. I'm at the peak of my powers and time to put on a masterclass."

Jonathan Haggerty still can't believe he's facing Superlek in Denver

Although Jonathan Haggerty is not foreign to headlining ONE Championship's events, he still feels a bit surreal to face an old foe in Superlek this weekend.

The two-sport world champion arrived in the Centennial State a month ago to prepare for ONE 168: Denver's main event, and he often took his morning runs by circling the Ball Arena.

'The General' observed some people lining up outside the Denver Nuggets' home stadium and told the South China Morning Post that he feels proud that some of those people would see him on Friday at ONE 168.

Haggerty said:

"We're actually not too far away from the Ball Arena. So every time before training, I run past it, and after training, I run past it, and there are always queues outside, people queuing up. I'm just thinking to myself, people are going to be queuing up, coming to watch me for the main event. So not only just me, but the whole fight card. But it's a little bit surreal, and it's exciting, and I can't wait to get in there now."

Limited tickets are available for ONE 168: Denver via Ticketmaster.
