Alex Pereira recently sent fans into a frenzy after losing to Khalil Rountree Jr. in a grip strength test. The two are set to face each other in a light heavyweight title contest at UFC 307 this weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In a recent video uploaded by @espnmma on Instagram, Pereira and Rountree Jr. squeezed the dynamometer as hard as possible. While the Brazilian registered 159.2 pounds on the measuring device, 'The War Horse' surprisingly beat that by getting a score of 166.2 pounds.
Many were surprised to see 'Poatan' score less than Rountree Jr. and flocked to the comments section to express their thoughts.

Another fan wrote:
"I seen construction workers get higher than both of em. Grip strength won’t win you the fight, tho."

"'Poatan' did it with his right hand [less dominant hand], and Khalil, who’s also a southpaw, used his dominant hand."

Israel Adesanya shares prediction for Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307
Israel Adesanya recently shared his prediction for the upcoming Alex Pereira vs. Khalil Rountree Jr. title clash at UFC 307. 'The Last Stylebender' picked his longtime combat sports nemesis to emerge victorious and broke down why the Brazilian would be a tough challenge for his opponent.
During an appearance on the Adam Carolla Show, the former UFC middleweight champion shared his thoughts on the upcoming light heavyweight title bout and pointed out that he's the only fighter to knock out Pereira in the octagon. He said:
"I'll go Pereira because of momentum right now. Also, I just know Rountree doesn't grapple. He likes to kickbox. He's never gone for a takedown, and I'm like, if you're going to do that with Pereira, there's one person who - I mean, I'm the only one who's ever even rocked him or stood with him in the UFC. Everyone else he's washed."
Adesanya continued:
"Rountree, I feel like, will be able if he can make it dirty and catch him, he can catch him, but it's so hard to do with Pereira. Because Rountree, his reach, might not be able to get to him. Pereira likes to use this defense, his long reach and frame, and then a check left hook... I'm going to go Pereira and I'm going to go TKO or KO."
