“I'm ready to face him” - Nabil Anane looking forward to Superlek rematch, gives props to Thai icon

Newly crowned ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nabil Anane turned in a sensational performance last weekend with a rather one-sided drubbing of Nico Carrillo at ONE 170.

The 20-year-old Team Mehdi Zatout standout scored three knockdowns against Carrillo in the very first round of a scheduled five and took home a technical knockout victory as well as the coveted gold, and a $50,000 performance bonus.

The victory also set the stage for a highly anticipated world title unification bout with the reigning king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.

After the event, Anane spoke to the media at the post-fight press conference. The six-foot-four-inch tall phenom said:

"First of all, I want to thank Superlek for giving me the opportunity to know what a world-class athlete is like. I've been improving myself since that loss with Superlek, and I've been training very hard, and I'm ready to face him."

What's next for Nabil Anane?

The Nabil Anane vs. Superlek Kiatmoo9 showdown is tentatively penciled in for ONE 172: Takeru vs. Rodtang at Saitama Super Arena in Japan for March. The fight has yet to be confirmed because Superlek is still recovering from injury.

Needless to say, fans can't wait to see the highly anticipated rematch between the two, after Superlek scored a TKO victory over Anane in the latter's ONE debut in 2023.
