After landing his fourth win under the ONE Championship banner, Shamil Gasanov is ready for a crack at 26 pounds of gold. On Dec. 6, Gasanov returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok for a high-stakes featherweight MMA clash against Halil Amir.
After three entertaining rounds of action, 'The Cobra' saw his hand raised via unanimous decision, picking up his third straight win.

Having walked away the winner in four of his last five, Gasanov is now sitting as the fourth-ranked contender in the featherweight MMA division and feels he's ready for a shot at the division's top dog.

"I just had some good news that you're all going to hear about soon as well so look out because I'm ready to fight for the title," Gasanov told the Bangkok Post when asked about potentially fighting for the title next.

Before Shamil Gasanov can step into his first ONE world title opportunity, he'll have to sit back and wait to see how things play out when reigning ONE featherweight MMA world champion Tang Kai puts his gold up for grabs against undefeated Kyrgyz standout Akbar Abdullaev.
It will be Tang Kai's second time defending the title after scoring a highlight-reel knockout against former titleholder Thanh Le at ONE 166 in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Abdullaev has moved to 11-0 in his mixed martial arts career with his last three wins all coming under the ONE banner against Oh Ho Taek, Aaron Canarte, and Halil Amir.
Tang vs. Abdullaev will headline a loaded ONE Fight Night 27 card when the promotion rings in the new year on Friday, Jan. 10. Fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 27 live on Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime.
