ONE women's atomweight MMA star Denice Zamboanga has proven time and time again that she has been deserving of an opportunity at the division's world title.

'The Menace' was supposed to get her chance in the main event of ONE 167 on June 7 inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, but an unfortunate injury to women's atomweight MMA world champ Stamp Fairtex derailed that chance.

With Stamp now undergoing physical therapy following a successful surgery on May 20, the No.2-ranked challenger is keen to see an interim world title belt come to play, only if the three-sport megastar's return is pushed back.

Her ideal opponent? None other than No.1-ranked atomweight MMA contender Ham Seo Hee.

Speaking with the South China Morning Post in a recent interview, Denice Zamboanga stated:

"For me, I already accepted for what had happened. But if we have a chance to face each other for the [interim] championship, I'm ready for it."

The Filipina star has fallen twice to 'Hamzzang', and while many would doubt her chances of a win now, Zamboanga has since bounced back with two strong decision victories in her most recent outings.

Denice Zamboanga will still compete at ONE 167

In light of Stamp's untimely injury, Denice Zamboanga will stay on the card where she will now face French-Thai star Noelle Grandjean in the undercard.

'Lil Monkey' is a dangerous opponent for the No.2-ranked contender because of her one-shot knockout ability, but the 27-year-old already has a plan in place, which she pointed out in a recent interview:

"I actually didn't change a lot with my training but the game plan is not that different because I saw her last fight before and I saw her recent fight. I saw her opponent dominate her in wrestling and that's my advantage. I think I could use my wrestling to dominate her."

ONE 167 will air live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
