Isi Fitikefu feels extremely confident nearing his next challenge in Japan's Hiroyuki Tetsuka at ONE 168: Denver on September 6. The 31-year-old feels that he would be able to test himself and come out as a victor inside the Ball Arena, Colorado, knowing that he has sharpened his skills to overcome Tetsuka's attacks.

For Fitikefu, confidence is not his only forte. He believes he would have a better chance with his ground game than the five opponents Tetsuka defeated before this.

The Australia and Tonga representative told ONE Championship in a recent interview ahead of their welterweight MMA scrap:

“I’m ready to test myself against this person. I’m ready to get the win.”

He explained:

“He’s going to be surprised at how sharp I am. He loves to swing, but I feel like I’m a bit more of a sharpshooter. I’m going to catch him down the middle. If he wants to grapple me, he can try. But I’m not like these other guys that stay on their backs. I don’t stay on my back. I’m a scrambler."

Hiroyuki Tetsuka plans to take out Isi Fitikefu for the 15th career win at ONE 168

Meanwhile, Hiroyuki Tetsuka also has his own plans for Isi Fitikefu's welterweight MMA clash inside Denver's Ball Arena on Sept. 6.

The Japanese veteran aims to take out Fitikefu for his 15th career victory at ONE 168, following a five-finishing streak over the likes of Agilan Thani, Edson Marquez, Jin Tae Ho, Abraao Amorim, and Valmir Da Silva inside the distance.

Throughout his mixed martial arts career, Tetsuka compiled a 14-4 record with six wins under ONE banner, and getting the 15th would be a feat of its own against a strong contender like Isi Fitikefu.

The 31-year-old Australian has a 75 percent finishing rate and a lot of momentum after he forced Da Silva into submission at ONE Fight Night 9.
