“I’m speechless” - Denice Zamboanga thanks ONE Championship for opportunity at world title

Newly crowned ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world champion 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines still can't believe she has 20-pounds of ONE Championship gold around her waist.

Zamboanga took home the interim atomweight crown last weekend at ONE Fight Night 27 on Prime Video with a second-round technical knockout over no.4-ranked contender Alyona Rassohyna of Ukraine.

Afterward, she was given a $50,000 performance bonus by ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong himself.

Speaking to veteran ONE Championship broadcast analyst Mitch 'The Dragon' Chilson in the ring after the win, Zamboanga thanked Sityodtong.

'The Menace' said:

"Oh my God, I’m speechless. First of all, I wouldn’t be here without our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you Khun Chatri, ONE Championship, for this opportunity. There’s a lot of atomweight fighters here but you love me so much and thank you so much for giving me this opportunity."

Stamp Fairtex praises close friend and next opponent Denice Zamboanga: "She has a really good body"

Denice Zamboanga's victory last weekend has set the stage for the inevitable ONE women's atomweight MMA world title unification with reigning queen Stamp Fairtex.

Stamp was in attendance at the event and even faced off with her close friend and former Fairtex training partner.

Afterward, she had nothing but nice words to say about Zamboanga. The Fairtex Training Center product told Bangkok Post:

"She has a really good body. She’s really fit and her boxing is really good, and ground game is good."
