Second-ranked ONE Championship women's atomweight MMA contender and ONE world title challenger 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines has long dreamed of becoming a world champion in ONE Championship.
Since joining the world's largest martial arts organization in December 2019, the 27-year-old Filipina star has seemed destined for greatness.
Zamboanga has been pursuing a potential shot at gold since her February 2020 victory over Japanese veteran Mei Yamaguchi. However, the title opportunity has always appeared to slip out of her grasp due to one unfortunate event after another.
Fast forward to four years later, and Zamboanga is once again in the running for the ONE interim women's atomweight MMA world title, and she is closer than ever before.

Speaking to YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan, in a recent interview, Zamboanga says she is appreciative of her position, having been given multiple chances to win the gold despite something always seemingly getting in the way.
'The Menace' said:
"Yeah, that’s one of the reasons why I feel motivated. That’s why I’m saying, I’m super blessed even if I had to wait for so long. But one of the reasons why I’m still so chill and not so pressured is I want to see if it’s the Lord’s will to delay my championship."
Zamboanga goes for the gold early next year in what is expected to be her toughest test yet.
