Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested, released, and put on house arrest in Romania after new allegations of human trafficking surfaced two weeks ago.

DIICOT, Romania's anti-organized crime unit, found new evidence that the Tates, together with a few associates, allegedly committed human trafficking, this time involving a minor.

If proven guilty, the accused will face serious jail time with Tristan and Andrew Tate put behind bars for the rest of their lives. Tate News on X reported the possible punishment if ever the crimes were proven:

"🚨🇷🇴The maximum prison time the TATE brothers and their associates could face if convicted of all charges against them in Romania" 😳

DIICOT cites questionable income sources by Tristan and Andrew Tate as evidence of illegal activity

Tate News also reported that DIICOT cited the lack of transparency in Tate's sources of income as evidence for their illegal activity. This fact was enough for them to arrest the polarizing internet personalities for human trafficking again, amongst many other charges.

In a tweet posted recently, Tate News quoted DIICOT's argument, saying:

"The defendants claimed that the seized assets and money were legitimate; however, checks conducted with the National Trade Register Office (ONRC) revealed that the defendants' companies in Romania did not report any profits, and the defendants were unable to provide documented evidence that they engaged in lawful profit-generating activities."
