Jonathan Haggerty is on a mission to reach the rarified status he once ascended to in a stellar 2023 campaign.
The British superstar had one of the best stretches of his career in the calendar year when he went a perfect 2-0 in his main events and captured the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world titles.
Haggerty, however, has since relinquished the bantamweight Muay Thai throne to Superlek Kiatmoo9 in their champion-versus-champion showdown in the main event of ONE 168: Denver in September this year.
With the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title the only gold remaining in his possession, Haggerty said he's determined to reach double-champ status in 2025 and reclaim his lost Muay Thai throne.

Jonathan Haggerty said in an interview with ONE Championship:
“I don’t think there’s ever been a two-time, two-sport ONE world champion, and I want to set another record with that. I’m here to take all the belts. It’s why I signed with ONE.”
Haggerty headlined ONE Championship's second major event in the United States opposite Superlek at Ball Arena in Colorado on Sept. 6 in a matchup that pitted two of the generation's best strikers.
'The General', however, fell to the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion in less than a minute and lost the bantamweight Muay Thai strap via knockout.
He now looks to start his redemption arc and recapture his coveted champ-champ identity.
Before Haggerty reclaims his lost gold, though, he must first defend his ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title against Chinese icon Wei Rui in the main event of ONE 171: Qatar on Feb. 20 at Lusail Sports Arena.
Jonathan Haggerty says he faces an abundance of potential super fights in ONE Championship
Jonathan Haggerty knows every match in ONE Championship has the potential to become a full-blown super fight at any given time.
In an interview with the Winners Talking Podcast, Haggerty said ONE Championship gives its fighters the platform to face off against some of the best fighters on the planet.
"That's the thing with ONE Championship, they put fights on that everyone wants to see. The best against the best, like you said, it's no like beating around a bush, having one golden boy and saving his record. It's like number one versus the champ. That's it. That's what's good about it."
