"I’m down with that" - Fans react after former UFC fighter makes suggestion for "biggest cross promotion fight to make right now"

Fans recently reacted after a former UFC fighter make quite an enticing suggestion for a cross-promotion fight that the MMA community have been clamoring for. The promotion has been against cross-promoting, but the fan demand still remains.

Former UFC middleweight Derek Brunson took to his X account and suggested that the MMA leader co-promote with the PFL to put a heavyweight clash together. He suggested they pit reigning heavyweight champion Jon Jones against former champion Francis Ngannou and then posed the question to fans. He wrote:

"Biggest cross promotion fight to make right now? My pick is Jon Jones v Francis Ngannou. What fight would yall like to see?"

Fans weighed in on Brunson's tweet and expressed their interest in the hypothetical heavyweight clash between Jones and Ngannou. Some fans also mentioned that 'The Predator's' loss to Anthony Joshua might have taken away the appeal for the UFC vs. PFL bout. Fans wrote:

Has UFC CEO Dana White changed his stance on cross-promotion?

Dana White has been against the idea of cross-promoting with other MMA promotions like Bellator and PFL in the past, but it appears as though his stance might have changed.

During his post-event press conference following UFC 303, White was asked whether the new relationship with Riyadh Season could make him more open to the idea of putting together a cross-promotion event or fight. He spoke highly for how they have handled boxing bouts and didn't shut down the idea.

White said:

"I actually respect [Turki Alalshikh], he's a nice guy. And we have actually formed a relationship over the last couple of months. I respect what he's done with boxing and this is the only guy that could ever pull this off making these big fights...We're obviously talking about lots of different options with this guy and I respect him, I like him, so we'll see what the future holds."
